Green MEP candidate visits St Albans
Councillor Rupert Read calls for Green jobs to help revitalise St Albans economy
Green Councillor Rupert Read visited St Albans on Monday as part of his tour of the region leading up to the European elections on 4 June.
Councillor Read is the Green Party's lead candidate for the elections in the region, and stands to be elected to the European Parliament if he receives just 10% of the vote. That's because these elections are conducted under a proportional system - so every vote counts.
Councillor Read was shown the many empty high street shops in St Albans by Parliamentary candidate Pete Eggleston. He then went on to talk to residents on the doorstep about the issue that concern them.
Radio Verulam and the Review Newspaper also took the opportunity to talk to Councillor Read about his visit and his policies.
