Cycling is key to safer, cleaner city

Herts and St Albans Councils must work together to make cycling easier, safer and more attractive for everyone, say Greens.

Green Councillor Simon Grover is leading the way at a new Council committee on cycling. Simon told the committee that all the evidence supports wide 20mph areas and separate cycle tracks, if people were to feel confident to use their bikes more.

Green candidate Keith Cotton (pictured) said, “Safe and secure cycling is a vital element of any successful transport strategy. There’s so much great work being done on this in cities like ours across the UK and Europe – our councils need to get pedalling and get up to speed!”
