Green councillor Simon Grover will take a seat on the steering group overseeing the Council’s work on the climate emergency, holding the Council to account. The Council tends to suggest small, unambitious proposals, but Greens are pushing for big ideas that will help save the climate and improve lives for residents.
For example, work is ongoing to create lots more electric vehicle charging points, and conversations have started on switching from dirty fossil fuels to clean renewable electricity and heat in Council facilities.
