Greens get Council to switch to renewable energy

23 August 2020

St Albans Green councillor Simon Grover has got St Albans Council to switch its energy contract to a green energy provider, Ecotricity. The move will hugely reduce the Council’s carbon footprint, as part of its commitment to have ‘net zero’ emissions by 2030. Councillor Grover negotiated the switch with the minority Lib Dem leadership at the Council. It shows how even small numbers of Green councillors can make a big difference, that benefits everyone.
